The Continental Army faced not just the British, but also a silent and deadly enemy: smallpox.
Now, George Washington, always the innovator, made a health call that was way ahead of its time. He ordered the inoculation of his troops against smallpox!
This was a risky move, as it meant intentionally giving soldiers a milder form of the disease to build immunity against a severe outbreak.
Who knew his health decisions could ripple out and shape the course of history?
Not only did his troops gain resistance against the disease, but it also played a crucial role in their morale and strength, contributing to their ultimate triumph against the British.
