In my last post I mentioned that Dr Bruce Daggy was conducting a webinar in which he unpackes Dr. Westcott’s research and shows you how you can implement a simple, safe, and healthy weight program in your daily life. As promised, here’s the link to the replay of that webinar.

Here are a few of my takeaways:
A lot of companies claim their programs will prevent YO-YO dieting with little to no clinical evidence.

What is the YO-YO?
At the beginning of your diet, the scale seems to be going in the right direction – you’re losing weight! BUT, what you don’t realize is that you’re not only losing body fat, but you’re also losing muscle.

You don’t want to lose muscle because it slows down your metabolism, making it harder to continue losing weight since you’re not burning as many calories. This is why most dieters regain all of the weight they lost within one year. Weight loss studies show that most diet programs lead to a muscle loss of about 25% of total weight loss. Muscle loss leads to a lower resting metabolic rate resulting in fat gain.

That is the dreaded YO-YO effect you want to avoid.

The key is clinical proof!
Unlike most diet programs where you lose both muscle and fat, the weight-loss program we recommend was clinically proven to help you lose weight and retain lean muscle.

What is a clinical study?
Clinical studies involve human participants versus animals.

Why is it important?
They are a primary way that researchers find out if a new product is safe and effective in people. Without clinical proof, it’s marketing hype and/or guesswork.

The clinical study proving the WeighLoss Program we recommend works!
The company we work with designed their breakthrough management program to end the vicious cycle of yo-yo dieting.

In 2017 Dr Wayne Westcott, a leading nutrition researcher from Quincy College, did clinical studies of individuals on our program. And the weight loss results are remarkable - 14 lbs of fat lost, 4 lbs of muscle gained, and an impressive 5.75% body fat loss!

We had Dr Westcott speak for our Do Protein Shakes Make a Difference in Weight Loss webcast where he went into detail about this study. You can watch the replay here.
